Day 14. Group F - Final Round. MEX - SWE. GER - KOR.

Pasamela!

Day 14.

Game 41 and 42.

Group F

Mexico - Sweden
27th June 15:00

Group F's final round of games provides perhaps the most interesting end to a group in the tournament so far. Sweden go into the match knowing a 1-0 win will put them on the exact same goal difference as current group leaders Mexico. Mexico only need a point to secure their place in the last 16, and more importantly, probably avoiding Brazil in the process.

'Chicharito' to score again?
Last Time:

Mexico 2-1 South Korea
Sweden 1-2 Germany

Sweden were extremely unfortunate last time out as they came away with nothing against rivals Germany. The Swedes looked organised and a threat on the break with Marcus Berg missing two guilt edge chances. However, they did go in at half time ahead thanks to a magnificent goal from Ola Toivonen, and some questionable defending from the holders.
Mexico carried on their form from their win over Germany into their second game against arguably the weakest side in the group, Korea. They were not as convincing as last time, but got the job done thanks to main men in attack Javier Hernandez and Carlos Vela, as well as another encouraging performance from youngster Hirving Lozano.
Toivonen to win it?

Pre Match Predictions:
This should be an incredibly tight match, with both teams desperate not to lose or concede early on. Mexico's flair in attack could trouble the older Swedish midfield, but may run out of luck against the supremely organised Swedish side. A draw is unlikely here due to Sweden being desperate for the win, and one would believe they could do it after their spirited performance against Germany.

Best Bet: Sweden to WIN - 5/2 (Winner)

South Korea - Germany
27th June 15:00

Germany's slow start to the tournament could finally come to life here against already eliminated South Korea. They know a win will almost certainly be enough to take them through to the next round, and they may even take top spot depending on the outcome of Mexico - Sweden. Korea will be playing for pride here after two straight losses to the sides they will have hoped to have taken points off.

Reus to score 27/20
Last Time:

South Korea 1-2 Mexico
Germany 2-1 Sweden

South Korea were narrowly beaten by top of the group Mexico after conceding a first half penalty, and a second half goal where there was surely a foul in the build up. They will count themselves unlucky to already be out of the tournament, but have fallen one short in both their games even with the heroic Son Heung-Min creating chances in attack.
Son Korea's only hope?
Germany will know they got away with one last time out versus Sweden. A 95th minute wonder strike from the ever present Toni Kroos secured them the three points in a game where they conceded chances. Jerome Boateng was shown a second yellow card, yet they still had enough to win the game. This will surely give the Germans the spring board they look like they need to advance into the next stage.

Pre Match Predictions:
With Korea only playing for pride, Germany should win this with relative ease. The Koreans have only scored once this tournament thanks to a 93rd minute goal from Son, and they will be lucky to grab another, with Germany now determined to take their game to the next level. Germany will have options in attack, and one would expect more from the likes of Timo Werner and Mesut Ozil this time around.

Best Bet: Marco Reus to Score - 27/20 (Winner)

Day 5. Sweden - Korea. Belgium - Panama. Tunisia - England.

Pasamela! Day 4. Game 12, 13, and 14. Sweden- Korea 18th June 13:00 Marcus Berg to Score Sweden and South Korea will be buoyed by the Mexican performance from last night and the surprise result in the opening game of group F. With Germany looking past their best, Sweden and Korea will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing and upsetting the Germans. Sweden finished 2nd in their qualifying group behind obvious winners France, and faced European giants Italy in the playoff. A shock 1-0 win ensued and the Swedes will go to the World Cup with lots of belief. South Korea on the other hand struggled in qualification, finishing just two points ahead of both Syria and Uzbekistan. The Korean team looks weaker than in recent tournaments, and they will do well to relive their 2002 glory. Chang to announce himself? Ones To Watch: Sweden will be looking to score goals in this group to put an end to the Zlatan era. With many questioning their ...

Day 2. Egypt - Uruguay. Morocco - Iran. Spain - Portugal.

Pasamela! Day 2. Game 2, 3, and 4. Egypt - Uruguay 15th June 13:00 Elneny to prove himself The Pharaohs take on the sky blues in the second game of Group A, after Russia's 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia. The world's eyes will be heavily focused on Mo Salah, or more accurately, Mo Salah's shoulder, as he battles back to full fitness. Once again, both sides will be itching to get started and get their first three points on the board. Uruguay will be favourites to win (8/13 skybet) and should take advantage of Egypt's defensive frailties to go top of the group after the first round of matches. Ones To Watch: Not much more needs to be said about the Premier League Player of the Season, Mo Salah . He will feel the weight the nation on his shoulders but would surprise nobody if he did delight the Russian crowds with his performances in Group A. However, it may be another Premier League man, Mohamed Elneny who will be key for the Egyptians. With the obvious g...

Day 1. Russia - Saudi Arabia

Pasamela! Day 1. Game 1. Russia - Saudi Arabia 14th June 16:00 So, here it is.. The count down is over. The biggest sporting event on the planet will soon get under way! The opening fixture of the World Cup finals 2018. The hosts Russia will be desperate to prove a point on home soil, while the lowest ranked side in the tournament, Saudi Arabia, will be just as eager to ensure they don't lose, in what could be their only chance of picking up points in these finals. Man Utd trainee Al-Sahlawi Ones To Watch : Despite being World Cup minnows, Saudi Arabia may have one shining star. Forward Al-Sahlawi has not only fired himself to a better goals per minutes ratio in qualification than the likes of Neymar and Ronaldo but he also trained and trialed with British giants Manchester United earlier this year. The Al-Nassr striker has 28 in 40 for Saudi Arabia, and will be hoping this tournament will prove his goal scoring abilities outside...
